Version 1.5.4.2
Stardew Valley might not have any upcoming big patches that we know of, but creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is still keen to fix errant issues as they toil away on their next project. The Switch edition just got version 1.5.4.2 as a matter of fact, and the Stardew Switch patch shores up some unfortunate issues that have been plaguing the game as of late; including crashes.
According to the creator, the Stardew Switch patch “fixed a few bugs and crashes, and also fixed the notorious mummified bat issue.” I know, it’s such an amazing thing to see taken out of context. But for reference, the mummified bat is an actual item in the game, and it’s a fairly recent one (the last seven months). Evidently, a ton of players were finding the hunt for these to be impossible: which is not something you really want in a game where people can easily spend an entire day playing it.
It’s just a small thing, but it’s adorable that ConcernedApe considers the mummified bat issue “notorious,” in their own words. They’ve shown time and time again that they care about the community and its concerns, no matter how small.
