The return of theĀ JediĀ will wait a little longer
Respawn is taking a little extra time to work on Cal Kestis’ return. Electronic Arts and Respawn confirm today thatĀ Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorĀ has been pushed back by six weeks, and will now launch on April 28, 2023.
Previously set for March 17, the development team at Respawn confirms today thatĀ Jedi: SurvivorĀ is content complete. The developer is now focused on the final stage of bug fixes, stability, and polish, and it’s looking to take a little extra time to do so.
“Jedi: SurvivorĀ is a direct response to the feedback from our community, delivering expansive destinations to explore, evolved combat and traversal, and of course, the continuation of Cal Kestis and BD’s story,” reads today’s statement. “Making this game has truly us a better team, and we have pushed ourselves at every level to make this theĀ Star WarsĀ sequel our fans expect from Respawn and Lucasfilm Games.
“In order for the team to hit the Respawn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release scheduleāStar Wars Jedi: SurvivorĀ will now launch globally on April 28th.”
May the Force be with you, in April
Originally announced back in May of last year and shown off at The Game Awards 2022,Ā Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorĀ is set to follow Cal and his companion droid as they continue to get by in a galaxy with far fewer Jedi than it used to have.
While a delay is rough for fans setting aside their time for a lightsaber-filled March, six weeks isn’t far off from the original target. Hopefully it gives theĀ Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorĀ team some extra breathing room for that final stage. Heck, one week more would’ve put it on the week of May the 4th.
Considering how good the reception was for Cal Kestis’ first game, there are some expectations now for the sophomore effort. We’ll see ifĀ Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorĀ benefits from the extra time in the bacta tank on April 28, 2023.
