Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Hyrule’s night sky is always active whether dragons are soaring or Aerocudas are diving. Link will occasionally spot a twinkling Star Fragment falling from the heavens. Collect this treasure, because it is precious and has a few great uses.

How to Farm Star Fragments in Tears of the Kingdom
Each night, only one Star Fragment will fall from the sky. Hence, Link can only grab one every in-game day. They shine brightly, making them impossible to miss, and they also leave a beautiful trail of light in their wake. This light acts as a beacon pinpointing the Star Fragment’s location.
When a Star Fragment falls, Link has until 05:00 in the morning to pick it up. If he does not, it disappears. Sometimes, if Link is lucky, a Star Fragment will fall while he is gliding. This provides a perfect opportunity to reach out and grab it mid-air.
Hyrule is huge, so it is possible to miss a Star Fragment. To maximize Link’s chances of catching one, pack several Speedy Elixirs. Next, be on the lookout between midnight and five AM. Gaining some height also helps, as it gives Link a greater view. When the light of a Star Fragment is spotted, gobble the elixirs and race to the landing spot to grab it before sunrise.
How to Use Star Fragments in Tears of the Kingdom
Star Fragments can be sold for 200 Rupees, but this is probably the worst use for the rare resource. Cooking the Star Fragment is ill-advised for the same reason. Instead, save it to upgrade armor sets at one of the Great Fairies. Some of the outfits that can be improved using Star Fragments include the following:
- Sky Armor
- Twilight Armor
- Wind Armor
- Time Armor
- Hero Armor
- Awakening Armor
- Sheik’s Mask
Jewellery purchased from Gerudo can also be upgraded with Star Fragments. This includes the following pieces:
- Sapphire Circlet
- Diamond Circlet
- Ruby Circlet
- Topaz Earrings
Star Fragments can be fused to several weapons. The best option is to fuse it with a Magic Rod or Magic Staff, causing it to let off orbs of light when the wand is swung. It can also be fused to a shield, providing Link with a constant source of light when he is exploring the Depths.
Farming Star Fragments is a relatively slow process, and a little luck is required. However, it can be achieved if you know what you’re doing. Furthermore, the buffed armor and luminescent weapons that can be forged with them make the hassle worth it.
