Sproings in the Twilight Forest all secrets in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Hidden by shadows.

If you take the secret exit in the first world’s four-star level Bulrush Express in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you’ll unlock a bonus level called Sproings in the Twilight Forest. It’s possible you’ve seen this level in the promotional materials for Wonder; it’s the level where everything is silhouetted. As a result, finding the Flower Coins and Wonder Seeds in this level can be tough.

Sproings in the Twilight Forest has, like most levels, three total 10-Flower Coins to collect, in addition to a hidden Wonder Seed. But, to attain them all, you’ll need to take this level slowly! Here’s how to achieve all secrets in Sproings in the Twilight Forest.

To start, venture into the level until you see a flying Koopa Troopa and stomp it, but make sure to keep its shell. It doesn’t matter if you send it left or right, it’ll still break a silhouetted block that allows you to access this first coin, which can be seen on the other side of the tree.

This second coin can be found a little further into the level, just after you see a flower bud floating in midair. Touch it, and it’ll re-materialize in the middle of what looks to be another silhouetted tree. But, this is actually to show you that there’s a space for you to jump, then wall jump to a ledge on the right, which holds the second 10-Flower Coin.

It’s actually right after the second coin that you’ll encounter the Wonder Flower, but we’ll describe that in detail below. If you venture a little further into the level, you’ll see a ledge with several enemies parading off of it. You can actually walk underneath this ledge to nab this 10-Flower Coin.

To get the optional Wonder Seed in Sproings in the Twilight Forest, you naturally have to find the Wonder Flower first. As you progress through the level, you’ll eventually come across an elongated Sproing with a glowing effect around its head. This will reveal the Wonder Flower, which will in turn make your playable character very long.

While this transformation won’t significantly change how you play the level, it will add one curious difference. When you duck, you’ll shrink back down to normal size, and with it coins and trees around you will fall down as well. While you can grab some extra Flower Coins this way, getting the Wonder Seed involves looking out for two extra long tree trunks right before the end of the level. Duck down between these and the Wonder Seed will appear!

Jump up immediately and you should get the Wonder Seed without any trouble. While you can skip this and grab the flagpole with the Wonder Power active, you won’t actually get credit for obtaining the Wonder Seed unless you specifically grab it.

Shortly after the Wonder Seed appears, you’ll find yourself at the end of the level. To earn a “Wonderful” rating and get completion on clearing the flagpole in your course list, run and jump between the trees leading up to the flagpole. Jump from the last tree, and bounce right off the Sproings as high as you can while still moving forward. You should find yourself at the top of the flagpole easily.

If the Sproings don’t play nicely, you can also come back to this level with better Badges that will let you get to the top of the flagpole even easier. Congratulations on fully clearing Sproings in the Twilight Forest!
