Just a little extra time

Heart Machine has announced that Solar Ash will be getting a slight delay, to get a little more time to polish before launch. The 3D traversal game will now be taking off on Dec. 2, 2021.

Solar Ash is the latest game from Heart Machine, the makers of the memorable indie action game Hyper Light Drifter. Solar Ash heads into a new dimension, literally, with a 3D look that’s still as stylish as you’d expect from the devs behind Hyper Light Drifter.

Originally set to arrive later this month, Heart Machine and publisher Annapurna Interactive confirmed today that Solar Ash will need a slight delay, just to get a bit more time for polishing and bug fixing.

“We want Solar Ash to shine, and we need a bit more time to get the last pieces of polish and bug fixes into the game, while still navigating this global pandemic as a highly dedicated team,” said Heart Machine in a statement today. “This short delay will help us get there. Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll see you in the Ultravoid soon.”

Considering it’s still arriving this year, this is a pretty short delay that should hopefully give the team the time it needs for launch. Solar Ash was looking interesting, but it was also launching in the middle of a crowded October-November window. With an early December date set now, it’s looking a lot easier to find time for some sci-fi traversal action before the end of the year.

Solar Ash will arrive on PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC via Epic Games Store on Dec. 2, 2021.
