Promises authenticity, not arcade-style play
While I’m of the opinion that we could use more snowboarding games regardless of what specific form the gameplay takes, with SSX still relatively fresh on our minds, it would be nice to see a high-profile title founded in realism. Perhaps Poppermost Productions will fill that void with its free-to-play, CryEngine 3-powered PC game SNOW.
I had never heard of this prior to today, but it sounds highly promising. The Stockholm, Sweden-based studio is partnering with notable freeskiers Tom Wallisch, Tanner Hall, and Russ Henshaw in an attempt to nail realistic gameplay for its open-world title.
“We are extremely fortunate to have such amazing athletic talent on our team,” said CEO Alexander Bergendah. “They will provide us with unmatched insight into their world, and offer gamers experiences that they’ve personally designed.” Apparently, a public beta test is coming soon. Better keep an eye out!
