Everyone’s favorite grave-digging knight is set to appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an assist trophy, but he’s still making the rounds as a playable character in plenty of other fighting games. Next month, Shovel Knight will join the roster of Rivals of Aether along with his Troupple Pond stage.

When he knocks opponents around the battlefield, they’ll drop gems which in turn power him up. “By taunting, Shovel Knight can summon Chester and spend his treasure on upgrades. This allows players to customize each fight to their needs and experience even more of Shovel Knight’s abilities.”

The Shovel Knight DLC will cost $5, and he’s going to close out the roster as the “last planned character addition.” Dan Fornace LLC then plans to focus on a definitive edition for PC in “early 2019” with every character, extra online features, and Abyss Mode customizations for the whole cast.

The team also intends to bring Rivals of Aether to more platforms next year.
