Should you give Fire Knight Queelign the Irish of Grace or Occultation in Elden Ring?

A present might cheer him up a little.

Fire Knight Queelign can be annoying in Elden Ring, as he will invade you a couple of times if you are in the right places, but ultimately, he is a pretty pathetic figure. You will eventually find him in the Shadow Keep, locked away in the prayer room and feeling sorry for himself.

Should you give Fire Knight Queelign the Irish of Grace or Occultation?

You will be able to get different items from Queeling, depending on which Iris you give him. You can choose to either give him the Iris of Grace or the Iris of Occultation, as long as you have them.

Give Queelign the Iris of Grace

Giving Queelign the Iris of Grace will get you the Fire Knight Queelign Spirit Ash. This will summon the Fire Knight Queelign to help you and will cost 123 Focus Points to use. It’s an okay summon, who can put out some DPS if it gets into the right attack pattern.

In-game description: Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of Fire Knight Queelign. Attacks immediately after being summoned. Spirit of a knight granted relief by the Iris of Grace. Wields a spear-like greatsword that impales foes upon fire, keeping the taint of impurity away from fair mother Marika. That grace was his salvation, though it was but a fleeting blessing. And having been saved, all that was left to him was to wage war.

Give Queelign the Iris of Occultation

If you give Queelign the Iris of Occultation, you will get Queelign’s Greatsword. This will do 117 Physical damage and 35 Fire damage at base level, and has D scaling with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, making it a pretty versatile weapon. It requires 14 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Faith to wield. It comes with the Impaling Thrust skill that performs a strong lunge that can break through shields.

In-game description: Greatsword of the Fire Knight Queelign. A weighty piercing sword with a blade that undulates like fire. Queelign devoted his all to the crusade and remade his greatsword in the shape of the lance wielded by his liege, aspiring to become a second Impaler.

Which one should you get?

This really just boils down to your preferred playstyle. Do you like Greatswords and never use summons? Then it seems like a pretty easy choice to make. I do think that neither of these is actually best in class, with both being outstripped by other options. That said, they are also effective and fun if you are not into min-maxing too much.
