And there’s still people who say ‘See-gah’
We’re a little over a month away from the release of the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis Mini. After a series of frankly pretty crappy attempts to capitalise on the emulation console market, Sega is hoping this much-improved venture will capture the same kind of success Nintendo saw with its NES and SNES Classic consoles.
The legendary developer/publisher has dropped a short trailer, reminding us of some of the classic titles that will be appearing on the portable device. Beginning with a TV set that looks like it’s from the 1970s (when the Mega Drive was first released, I guess), the one-minute preview features clips from some of the included 40+ titles, such as Alisa Dragoon, Virtua Fighter 2, Strider, Columns, Road Rash, Kid Chameleon and Sonic the Hedgehog, which you have now purchased nine times.
For those of you who can’t wait to get your hands on another pint-sized box packed with childhood memories, the Sega Genesis Mini launches September 19 in all territories, save for Europe and the Middle East, where the Sega Mega Drive Mini will arrive October 4.
