I’ve been itching to string up bodies, body parts, and cars like Christmas lights all over New York City since… well, about five minutes ago when I watched this new Prototype 2 trailer. In it, developers detail the game’s tendril powers, which allow you to not only tear things apart, but hang ’em up all over the place.
“They give the player really a feeling of affecting the world,” says senior technical director, Bryan Brandt. “You end up with all these props and pieces of enemies and stuff strung up and hanging, so that it really feels like you as a player, you cause damage. A lot of damage.”
“Dismemberment never felt so good,” adds Dave Fracchia, Radical Entertainment’s vice president of technology.
Okay, so I’m sold. Prototype 2‘s out next year.
