Ascaron’s first Sacred title yielded a solid experience as players navigated and slashed monsters on the continent of Ancaria. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is a true sequel to the original, featuring the same Diablo-esque mechanics that fans love and a return to the world that spawned multiple expansions and fanfare. More importantly, the guys at Ascaron are more than happy to answer the call of its fans.
Sacred 2’s version of Ancaria is promised to be more than one and a half times larger than the previous title, which is roughly over twenty-two square miles of distance to traverse. In addition to that, over 100 personality types have been added to the game to assure that gamers will not meet the same NPCs continually in the many cities, towns, dungeons, and underground lairs available. Also implemented especially for Sacred 2 is a new character development system that will allow players to customize their special attacks and swap out complements to their initial move sets from one of the six character classes available.
While running around and playing with combat mechanics is a good time for most RPG guys, killing stuff is where the real fun is. Over 100 different kinds of enemy archetypes have been assembled for Sacred 2, each with their own specific skill sets and levels. As for the multiplayer side, 16 PC players can team up to kill each other or enemies according to their preference. On the 360 and PS3, four players can traverse Ancaria through its “Light” or “Shadow” campaign modes.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is set to hit the PC this September, and the Xbox 360 and PS3 in November. Check out the images below for a taste of what is to come, and stay tuned for some hands-on impressions from the game.
