Of all the outfits available during the early game of the Tears of the Kingdom, the Royal Guard armor is one of the best. Have Link throw it on, and he’ll look like a regal soldier ready to defend Hyrule Castle with honor. It isn’t very customizable, but its default colors already look amazing.

This guide will explain how to locate all three parts of the Royal Guard armor set in Tears of the Kingdom.

Royal Guard Boots location in Tears of the Kingdom

As you might expect, all three parts of the Royal Guard armor set can be found in Hyrule Castle. To acquire the boots, warp to Serubatomac Shrine on the perimeter of the castle. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, you’ll have to glide to Hyrule Castle via Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, then run to the back of the castle. The coordinates of the shrine are: -0179, 1170, 0280.

Jump off the platform the shrine is on, run behind it, and you’ll find an entrance to the castle. Walk through it, and Link will find himself in Hyrule Castle B3. Run down the stairway, and it’ll spit Link out into a large room full of bookshelves. Run down the stairs again, and head to the northernmost bookshelf. Using Ultrahand, move the bookshelf aside and enter the King’s Study behind it. You’ll find the boots here.

The Royal Guard Cap is located in Zelda’s Room, and you can get there from the study. Head to the far end of the study, take the first right turn, then follow the passage until the dead end where you can use Ascend.

Link will reemerge just outside of the building. Enter it once more, and Link will be in a large hall in Hyrule Castle 1F. Run down the passage directly left of the entrance. It will lead Link back outside the castle. At this point, you should be at the following coordinates: -0314, 1004, 0337.

If you look northward, you’ll spot one of the spires of the castle. Glide to it, then quickly run to the other end of the bridge, as it will crumble when Link stands on it. The other entrance holds Princess Zelda’s Room. Enter it, and the treasure chest containing the cap is yours.
