Along with Mad Max-esque battle cars

We knew a new Rocket League announcement was coming today. It’s not any more word on if/when the car soccer game would show up on other platforms. Instead, it’s a handful of new car customization options modeled after brutal post-apocalyptic wastelands like the one seen in Mad Max.

Chaos Run will be paid DLC, bringing two new battle-cars (Ripper and Grog), six new decals for each, as well as some new paint types, wheels, toppers, and antennas. It’s no DeLorean, but it looks cool.

More interesting is the new arena “Wasteland.” Not only does it go along with the theme, featuring cracked desert sands and graffiti’d billboards, it is also the first Rocket League field to break the mold, featuring a sloped perimeter, a wider pitch, and different boost locations. It isn’t as crazy as some of the arenas in Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, but it should definitely change up how the game is played in subtle ways. Wasteland will be available for free for all players.
