Cross-gen chaos from the studio behind Steep

Today’s Ubisoft Forward stream got amped up with a wild new open-world IP, Riders Republic.

It’s a “mass multiplayer” extreme sports game from Ubisoft Annecy in which players can go nuts together with bikes, snowboards, skis, and wingsuits in seven regions based on the US National Parks.

While racing, you’ll be able to see upwards of 50 other players on next-gen consoles and PC – or around 20-ish on current-gen systems. There’s a sponsor-earning career mode, co-op character customization, and a trick system, too. Steep never managed to scratch the SSX itch, but I’ll keep hoping for the best.

Riders Republic is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2021. If you happen to end up with a PS4 or Xbox One copy and you want to upgrade, that won’t cost anything extra.
