Renegade knights reap the spoils of Inarius’ crusade
The description for Renegades Retreat is quite intimidating by Diablo 4 standards. However, the dungeon itself is crucial for Rogues looking to increase their damage by applying Vulnerable, due to the Aspect reward it grants. Completing it is fortunately rather simple, as you are tasked with killing three Elite Keepers before fighting the final boss.
However, the dungeon can be a bit tricky to find and navigate to. Below you’ll find the location & directions for Renegades Retreat in Diablo 4.
Renegades Retreat dungeon location and directions for Diablo 4
The Renegades Retreat dungeon is located in the Caldeum area in the region of Kehjistan. Despite its location, the closest waypoint is actually Denshar, located in the western part of the Kehjistan Fields of Hatred. Once there, head west until you reach a wide open area. From there, travel northeast until you come to the dungeon entrance.
If you are having trouble finding this dungeon, simply check the map above and follow the red line from the Denshar waypoint to the Renegades Retreat entrance.
Renegades Retreat dungeon guide
All things considered this is actually a very simple dungeon. Upon entering Renegades Retreat you will receive your first objective: Slay 3 Keepers.
Proceed forward through the first area of the dungeon called the Hideout Entrance until you reach the next area called the Hideout Corridors. From here, travel counterclockwise around this large room and you will encounter each Keeper one by one tucked away in their own separate room.
You may be a bit startled to see that the Keepers actually have their own unique name. Despite this rare occurrence, however, the Keepers are just Elite monsters and not Boss enemies. They are a bit tanky but otherwise easy to dispose of; just make sure you kill all the nearby adds before they overwhelm you.
Once you’ve slain the final Keeper, he will drop an item called the Treasure Room Key. Picking it up will grant your next objective: Use the Treasure Room Key to open the Treasure Room Door. The door is located in the Hideout Corridors, and you may have passed it on your way to find the Keepers.
Find the big golden door and unlock it, leading to the final area of the dungeon called the Treasure Trove.
Once you reach the Treasure Trove you will encounter the final objective of this dungeon; the Outlaw Sharpshooter boss.
Outlaw Sharpshooter Boss Guide
Thankfully, the Outlaw Sharpshooter boss is pretty easy and only has a few moves you need to be aware of.
First is his Smoke Bomb. This ability drops a small Area of Effect puddle on the ground that causes him to become invisible. It will also hinder your vision when you are standing in the AoE. Once he becomes invisible, he will fire three projectile shots at you which can be easily evaded. He will then become visible again and you can continue damaging him.
His second ability is Stun Trap. He will toss these traps across the area. Stepping in a trap will cause you to get stunned for a few seconds, during which the boss will focus his projectile attacks directly at you. Thankfully these are easy to stay clear of.
Finally is his ability Explosive Shot. The Outlaw Sharpshooter will fire a projectile at you that explodes into five smaller projectiles that spread out in random directions. Simply evade each shot and you can continue focusing on the boss. It’s harder to get hit by these projectiles if you are moving, so I recommend using your mobility skills once you see him fire the bigger Explosive Shot projectile.
Once you’ve defeated the Outlaw Sharpshooter you have completed the dungeon and are ready to reap the rewards!
Rewards for Renegades Retreat in Diablo 4
Honestly, while not a bad dungeon to farm for experience and loot, there are also better options. Therefore, it’s best to complete Renegades Retreat just once for the first time rewards.
The first time you finish this dungeon you will receive 30 Renown and the Legendary Aspect of Corruption. This Rogue-only Offensive Legendary Aspect increases the potency of your Imbuement Skills against enemies that are Vulnerable.
