Sure, I grumbled about BioShock 2, until I saw the brief trailer from yesterday, which turned me into a glowing, excited child on the spot, despite my inner cynic. I had a flash of insight — the game could actually be good. It could be rubbish too, but I like to lean on the positive side.

2K Marin’s Charles Shechbeck commented on the trailer with some vague, mysterious words today:

“BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams is part of a prequel and at the same time is a sequel, so you’re kind of close on the interpretation of the trailer. The rising replica of Rapture can represent something to do with this or something part of a bigger surprise that everyone has to wait and see to play. “

Prequel AND sequel? What a tease. I envision something that shows us a bit of Rapture before the time of the first game and then jumps forward into the future, but who knows. It’s not much to go on, but enough to get my imagination churning. I hope we get more than this trailer to go on soon, because the suspense is killing me.
