Double down this weekend
If you’ve been having difficulty joining the Rainbow Six Siege beta (*cough* which is everyone *cough*), I bring good news — the beta is being extended until October 4, 2015.
The extension also heralds a Double Renown event, which as well as doubling your renown bonus, boosts your chances for more operators, attachments and skins.
“Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the Rainbow Six Siege Closed Beta thus far,” writes Ubisoft. “This is one of the largest betas that Ubisoft has ever done, and needless to say, we’ve learned a lot since last Thursday and are looking forward to sharing with you the impact of this testing period on our game at launch, on December 1st.
“We’ve already identified areas for long-term improvement for launch on our dedicated servers and matchmaking, and we’ve also pushed several updates that have helped ease the experience for the short-term.”
Ubisoft promises to feedback to players how data collection and feedback has affected the game, and will be contacting all American and European players who have “played at least one match in the Closed Beta before 2pm EST on September 29.” If you’re selected, you’ll get “immediate access codes” to refer friends to the beta on the same platform as you.
The beta registration beta will close today, but “guaranteed access codes” will be redeemable until tomorrow, Friday October 2, 2015.
Here, have some SCIENCE FACTS:
- PvP matchmaking has improved with an average wait time of 30-45 seconds.
- Terrorist Hunt has a 96% success rate per matchmaking attempt, with average 20-30 seconds of wait time.
- If it takes longer than 90 seconds to get into any game, we recommend backing out and trying again.
- If you are having difficulties matchmaking while in a squad, check out this list of potential workarounds.
- If you are a pre-order customer and feel you should have received your invite by now, please contact customer support using “[Activation] Missing Code” as the subject line. We will be keeping an eye out for those.
“Thank you again for your participation, your patience, and your support,” adds Ubisoft. “We appreciate your collaboration with us in this testing period, and know that your input helps us improve the experience for all in the finished product.”
“The Rainbow Six community has always been very important to us, and we look forward to being with you all long after launch as we continue to support and iterate on the game.”
