Ubisoft have revealed that Inon Zur and Stuart Chatwood have been tapped to score the music for the upcoming Prince of Persia title for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Zur and Chatwood are no strangers to the series, with Chatwood having scored Sands of Time and Zur adding his talents to both The Two Thrones and Warrior Within.

The music is described as “eastern ethnic instrumentation blended with a cinematic orchestral approach,” which may just be a fancy way of saying it has a “Middle Eastern flavor.” Both Zur and Chatwood should bring different perspectives to the soundtrack; Zur providing dramatic, orchestral sounds, with Chatwood — a member of the Canadian rock band, Tea Party — bring a different flavor to the mix.

Even if you didn’t particularly like Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia trilogy, it’s hard to argue that the music wasn’t compelling and — in layman’s terms — totally awesome. With Zur and Chatwood on board, even if Prince of Persia turns out to be a disappointing mess, at least we know it’ll look pretty and sound beautiful.
