Pokemon Snap 64 will make its debut on Nintendo Switch on June 24, Nintendo has announced. It’ll join the newer 2021 iteration on the same platform.
Originally released in 1999 on the Nintendo 64, the picture-taking simulator became an instant cult classic. In a sense, it’s the perfect game to come to a subscription service, as the concept is kind of out there, to the point where a lot of folks would never go out of their way to seek it out, but if a lot of those same people gave it a shot, they’d really enjoy it.
The Nintendo 64 side of things has been particularly slow-going, as far as the expansion pack is concerned. So originally Nintendo launched the serviceĀ back in October with nine games. Since then they’ve doled out an additional game per month, includingĀ Paper Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Majora’s Mask, F-Zero X, Mario Golf, Kirby 64, and nowĀ Pokemon Snap 64. That’s a grand total of 16 games.Ā The Genesis side has fared a little better, as Nintendo generally drops three or more games at once on that expansion pack line, albeit at a less regular cadence.
Switch Online is kind of all over the place in terms of value. Hopefully it’ll improve at some point as early as this year.
