[Update: There aren’t many highlights to go over for this understated State of Play lineup, but there are a few: Moss: Book II, new footage — and a delay into early 2022 — for Sifu, and details about the Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PS5, which is a $10 upgrade.]

A new State of Play has been announced for later this week, featuring an extended look at Deathloop and a number of other titles. Just don’t expect to see some of the big first-party names there.

The show goes live on Thursday, July 8 at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT, on both YouTube and Twitch. The full show will clock in at around 30 minutes, and feature an extended gameplay look at Deathloop, with both stealth and guns-blazing approaches to navigating Blackreef Island.

Deathloop is the one named game, though there will also be updates on “some exciting indie and third-party titles.” Sony does note that this will not have updates on Horizon Forbidden West, the next God of War, or the next generation of PlayStation VR. There will apparently be more updates soon this summer, though.

That might be a bummer for those hoping for Horizon release date, but I’m hoping for some good indie news. State of Play is where we’ve seen games like Sifu before, and I’m definitely down to see more of that.
