How to connect PS Portal to public Wi-Fi network

This new update will enable PS Portal users to join public Wi-Fi networks on their PS Portal but there’s a catch to it. The feature is not in-built on the PS Portal and users will require a smartphone or tablet to connect their PS Portal to the Wi-Fi network. When a user wishes to join the public network, the PS Portal will show a QR code that must be scanned via a smartphone or tablet. Scanning the QR code will open up the mobile’s web browser where users have to follow instructions in order to connect the PS Portal to the Wi-Fi network.

With this new update, a new visual feedback has been added to highlight the use of the touchpad areas on the PS Portal. The new visual effect will be shown when gamers make use of the touchpad.

Here is how it would look:

Another visual quality-of-life improvement is that the PS Portal will now show the battery level in percentage. So, if the default visual of battery cells does not work for you, and you want a more accurate idea about the battery level of your PS Portal, you can now switch to displaying the battery level in percentage by opening the quick menu, heading to Settings, selecting System, then choose Battery, turn on the Show Battery Percentage option. As you can see in the image below, you can still see the battery levels in percentage and with the classic visual indicator.

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Fortnite
