We still don’t have pricing or release date info, but Sony is starting to take down names for eventual PlayStation 5 pre-orders in the US. If you’re interested, you can submit your PlayStation ID, but there are no guarantees. “If you are selected, we will contact you via email before pre-orders start.”

“There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation,” the site says. “Our selection is based on previous interests and PlayStation activities.”

“Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once you get an invite via email, we encourage you to follow instructions and act fast.”

In an FAQ, it’s clarified that chosen customers will be able to buy a standard PS5 or a PS5 Digital Edition and up to two DualSense controllers, among other accessories like charging stations. “Due to limited quantities and high demand, we will be limiting PS5 console pre-order reservations to one per PSN ID.”

My track record with getting emails from PlayStation is spotty at best, so we’ll see how this goes.
