Piranha Plants on Parade is the second level you’ll complete in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but it hides some secrets under its surface. Most players should have no trouble finding the 10-Flower Coins and optional Wonder Seed here, but this level also has a secret exit that is incredibly easy to miss. Here’s how to fully clear Piranha Plants on Parade.
All Flower Coin Locations in Piranha Plants on Parade
10-Flower Coin 1
Getting the 10-Flower Coins should prove straightforward for most players. However, for those totally new to 2D Super Mario Bros., the first coin could be a little tricky. To grab this one, keep moving right until you see a red pipe. Jump atop it and press the down button, and you’ll reappear in the background of the level.
Run to the left and you can grab the 10-Flower Coin underneath the Red Pipe.
10-Flower Coin 2
Super easy one. Simply keep traversing the level and you’ll see this one at the end of a series of musical blocks.
10-Flower Coin 3
If you pick up the Wonder Seed (see below), you’ll scroll by this 10-Flower Coin. You should be able to grab it during the musical sequence (again, see below), but if you miss it, you can go back after the fact to grab it.
How to get the Wonder Seed
Once again, you’ll come across this one naturally. The Wonder Flower will bounce between two green pipes. When you grab it, you’ll trigger an auto-scrolling musical sequence with the Piranha Plants. Simply focus on not getting hit by the Piranha Plants, and make sure you don’t get caught behind any pipes. If you picked up a Fire Flower, you can take out any enemy Piranha Plants using your fire balls.
After the screen stops scrolling, the Wonder Seed will appear in front of you. Grab it and be on your way, though note there’s another secret right here for you to find.
How to find the Piranha Plants on Parade secret exit
As you were completing the Wonder Seed sequence, you may have noticed a Red Pipe that was, mysteriously, in the foreground. This is actually a clue that you should keep searching this area. Right after you get the Wonder Seed, you’ll notice a floating land mass above you to the left with three pipes sticking out of it. You want to get on top of this platform.
To do this, move to the right so you’re on the other side of the music boxes. Hold Y to get a running start and dash back to the left. Once Mario reaches the last music box, leap up as high as you can and keep running left (pictured above). This should give you enough altitude to land on the green pipe protruding to the side.

Jump up from there to the top side of the platform, and you’ll reveal a secret area. Continue running left and you’ll find another red pipe. Enter into here, and Mario will now be on the foreground of the level! Just run right and pick up any goodies you can. Eventually you’ll run past where the normal Flag Pole is and find a green pipe leading you to a second Flag Pole.
As a side note, if you run all the way to the right before you enter that pipe, you can jump up at the edge of the level to reveal an extra life.
Enter the pipe, grab the secret Flag Pole, and you’re done! This alternate path will lead to a secret path on the world map that will take you to Captain Toad, who will reward your efforts with some bonus Flower Coins. Congratulations on finding all the secrets in Piranha Plants on Parade!
