How to easily complete Blight in Path of Exile

Even though Blight itself has received some changes over the leagues, including both in-map Blight mechanics and actual Blighted and Blight-Ravaged maps themselves, the overall strategy used to successfully complete Blight in Path of Exile 3.25 is relatively the same.

First and foremost, you want to put two very specific Oil Anoints on your Rings. Ring Annoints only affect Blight Towers, so you’re not missing out on actual character build damage by using these. Here are the two Ring Anoints you want to use for Blights in Path of Exile:

Best Blight Ring Anoints in Path of Exile

  • Your Meteor Towers create Burning Ground for 3 seconds on Hit
    • Indigo Oil
    • Violet Oil

This helps further clear lanes in Blight by applying an AoE ground damage fire that continuously damages enemies nearby. Also, while some lanes may spawn with immunity to Fire-based towers, like the Meteor Tower, this does not apply to the Burning Ground effect.

  • Your Chilling Towers freeze enemies for 0.2 seconds while they are affected by chilling beams
    • Opalescent Oil
    • Silver Oil

This is very important anoint as it will literally freeze enemies in place on your lane, allowing your towers to damage them down. This even applies to Boss enemies, making it possible to run even the highest tier Blight-Ravaged maps with low-quality gear due to freezing lanes.

Because the Chilling Towers anoint is more expensive, it’s recommended to put that Anoint on a ring you plan on using for a while, so you don’t have to spend the currency to replace it when the time comes.

Best Blight Strategy in Path of Exile

Once you have the appropriate Anoints, this is the strategy you want to utilize for all Blight mechanics.

As the lanes spawn, find crucial choke points where multiple lanes intersect and allow you to build multiple towers. Then, you want to focus on building four specific towers all around the chokepoint:

  • Level 3 Empower Tower
  • Level 3 Ground Tower
  • Level 3 Chilling Tower
  • Level 4 Meteor Tower

Make sure all of the towers are built within the range of the Level 3 Empower Tower so they are receiving its buffs. Also, even though it may seem like a good idea to upgrade the Level 3 towers to a Level 4 specialty tower, don’t. The level 4 Empower Towers don’t buff the nearby towers, the Level 4 Chilling Towers won’t utilize your Ring Anoint, and the Level 4 Ground Tower doesn’t stop enemies in place.

Once new lanes open up, make sure to secure them each with a at least one choke point utilizing the combination of towers above.

Best ways to make currency with Blight in PoE 3.25

You have a few options when it comes to making Currency via the Blight mechanic in PoE 3.25. We’ll go over the three best options you have available to you, and how to make the most of them.

  • Blight-Ravaged Maps
    • Chisel quality to 20%, Alchemy Orb them, and make sure they don’t have the Monsters cannot be stunned or slowed modifiers. If they do, Scouring Orb them and ALchemy Orb them again.
    • Next, you can Anoint 9 Oils on Blight-Ravaged Maps. At the time of this post, Golden Oils are way to expensive to consistently use them on your maps. However, once they price comes down, this is the best combination of Oils for Blight-Ravaged Maps:
      • 1 x Golden Oil
      • 3 x Silver Oils
      • 2 x Opalescent Oils
      • 3 x Teal Oils
    • Until the Golden Oil prices drop, I recommend using this Oil combination:
      • 2 x Black Oils
      • 1 x Opalescent Oil
      • 3 x Silver Oils
      • 3 x Teal Oils
  • Blighted Maps
    • These aren’t as difficult as Blight-Ravaged, so to make the most of it you’ll want to Chisel and then both Alch Orb and Vaal Orb.
    • They can only utilize 3 Oils, so you should use 3 x Crimson Oils or 3 x Teal Oils depending on your budget.
  • In-Map Blight
    • With the new Templar Ingenuity node on the Atlas Passive tree, this may actually be the best currency-making method. With this node, you get bonus rewards at the end of completing a Blight mechanic based on salvaging the towers you built. The higher level the tower, the better the rewards, and the more unique towers you have built, the better rewards.
    • With this logic, you’ll want to make sure you can handle the Blight mechanic yourself based on your character damage. Then, focus on building as many unique Tier 4 Towers as you can. This means a Tier 4 Meteor Tower, a Tier 4 Flamethrower Tower, etc. The more you can build before completing the mechanic, the better the rewards for salvaging them afterwards.
    • This strategy also earns you a lot of Gold which is required for the Settlers of Kalguur league mechanic!
