Can you move buildings in Palworld?

Pal zoning law is wild.

You’ve woken up in what appears to be a paradise filled with various magical creatures that you can capture, train, and work with. You have access to wondrous technology that allows you to craft fantastic devices like wooden boxes. Everything is going swimmingly until Palworld tasks you with making a ranch and you realize there’s no room until you move the saunas. Just how are you to move that building?

The long and short of it is, that you can’t. Once a “building” has been put down, there’s no moving it. I use quotations because there’s no singular building. Everything crafted, from a structural standpoint, using the Foundations subset, is comprised of individual pieces. Palworld can’t account for the structure as a whole.

Of course, that’s a moot point, as there simply isn’t moving anything in a base once it’s been placed. Players must destroy whatever it is that needs to be moved, get some materials refunded for the effort, and simply rebuild it elsewhere.

This can make base building a touch difficult as you unlock new options from the Technology pool and want to implement them. To add insult to injury, Palworld lacks a quality-of-life feature present in titles like 7 Days to Die and ARK: Survival Evolved: upgrading. That’s right, going from wood to stone to metal isn’t possible without destroying the current piece and building anew. It’s super frustrating.

Until an option is implemented that doesn’t require demolishing a base like an episode of Fixer Upper, try not to fret too much if you find a base redesign is necessary. Your base is a living, breathing thing that grows alongside you and your Pals.
