Palworld has tons of Pals, some good for working at your base, and others good for combat. With 111 Pals in total, there’s definitely some more useful than others in certain areas. Here are all the best Pals for combat in Palworld, including what you might use them for and where they truly shine.

Best Pals for Farming Exp and Leveling

If you’re looking to just get as much experience as possible by decimating other Pals, you have a couple of options. While this can be an effective way of farming exp to level up, you want to make sure you’re making use of what it is that makes them efficient. I recommend either a solid Flying Pal that you can mount and directly spam its combat abilities, or Pals you can command via collars. Here’s the best Pals for combat when farming exp:

Best Flying Combat Pals

You can craft a saddle for all of these Pals which will allow you to mount them, and therefore control their attacks. One of the fastest ways to kill other Pals for farming experience is to use a flying mount, fly above a lot of Pals, and just blast them with your strongest attacks. Here are the best Pals for that:

With these Pals, you can craft Collars/Necklaces that allow you to directly command multiples of that specific Pal. You’ll want to craft the appropriate item to control them, then fill your party with these:

Best Pals for Combat against Bosses in Palworld

When it comes to Bossing, you need to approach things a little differently with your Pal selection. Obviously, if you have a Pal that is somehow higher level than what you are facing, it’s probably going to be worthwhile to use. However, in most situations, you’re actually going to want to use whatever your strongest Pal is that is strong against the Element type of the Boss Pal you are facing. For example, going against Grizzbolt, an Electric-type Pal, you’re going to want to use a Ground-type Pal. However, you’ll want to avoid using a Water-type Pal, as Grizzbolt will make quick work of it.

In my opinion, while every situation will have unique requirements, the overall best Pals for combat are going to be ones you can also mount and fly with. By this metric alone I recommend the Alpha Katress on Lunaris, and of course Jetragon.
