At this point, we’re all used to the Helldivers 2 gameplay loop. We drop onto a planet, maybe kill a few bugs or bots, get killed, redeploy as a reinforcement, and repeat the process until the mission is complete. Well, one player didn’t get the memo and has been pumping Helldivers full of Stims to keep them alive.
A player on the Helldivers 2 subreddit has twice shared their quite frankly incredible feat of keeping their Helldivers alive for as long as possible by first using 218 Stims, then 270 Stims, each in a single mission. When you consider that most players get 4/6 Stims per Helldiver, and those don’t get topped up unless you use armor perks or get a resupply Stratagem sent down, this starts to sound like a massive pain in the neck, not just for the player but also the poor Helldivers jabbing themselves every two minutes just to stay alive.
Helldivers 2 player emerges from mission with an unprecedented 270 Stims used
User BoomyGordo initially posted on the Helldivers 2 subreddit about how they managed to make it out of a mission with a whopping 218 Stims used. However, they didn’t record their efforts, so fans doubted them. That’s why they went back in using the same strategy to just barely scrape through a mission with a staggering 270 Stims used.
As seen in the video above, during this mission, they used all of their reinforcement budget, meaning they still died at least five times because they had nothing left in the end. They appear to have managed to get so many Stims in a single mission by using the Supply Pack and Resupply Stratagems.
They fill their backpack up with all the supplies they can carry and use Stims until they need a refill. By the time they need to refill their backpack, the Resupply Stratagem is ready, so they can call it down and repeat the process. The video makes it look dull, but I think with more players involved, you wouldn’t notice the monotony of the process nearly as much.
This Stim strategy probably isn’t great if you’re trying to complete as many objectives as possible, but it does show that one player on a squad can keep their supply of Stims high enough to heal everyone else when required. With strategies like this, we’ll be able to save a lot more civilians the next time duty calls and we’re forced to choose which Major Order we should fulfill.
