Good and evil collide as the end times approach

The angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant respectively, are an odd duo. Their history together goes back 6,000 years, and to the dismay of the former, the two are teaming up to save the world from an impending apocalypse. During New York Comic-Con, fans of the book finally got their first glimpse of the Amazon Prime Video television adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s celebrated novel.

This first trailer is as quirky and stylish as fans have likely imagined it would be for years—with set and costume design that spans several centuries going all the way to present-day Britain, a high-speed Bentley, and plenty of conversations on park benches, it looks like to be a mostly faithful adaptation of the novel. It shouldn’t come as too big a surprise—Gaiman himself wrote the screenplays for the miniseries.

With a cast that also includes the likes of Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson (both in attendance at NYCC with Gaiman, director Douglas Mackinnon, Sheen, and Tennant), Nick Offerman, and Michael McKean, even I, someone who has yet to read the book in its entirety, am quite excited.

Good Omens will stream on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2019.
