With the arrival of the New Xbox Experience this past week came the ability to install games to the hard drive, reducing load times and eliminating the deafening noise produced by the console’s DVD-ROM. We’ve already heard reports that some games won’t have any improvement when installed, due to the way they were designed. Now, we’ve received word that some games simply cannot be installed at all.

The good news is that it’s an pretty short list of titles (thus far, though more may exist). There are not only very good odds that you don’t have most of the games in question, but that you would also not play them with enough frequency for it to be an issue. The only major exception being Crackdown, which does have some annoying load times that I would have liked to have cut back on.

The bad news is that Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 is on the list. I think we all know how interminable the wait can be to have an experience you’re really looking forward to, joystick in hand. Well, it isn’t going to get any shorter, I’m afraid.

The list of affected games follows the jump.
