The Wolf Among Us 2 - not canceled

No, The Wolf Among Us 2 hasn’t been canceled

Not among us yet.

The Wolf Among Us 2 has been listed as “Coming Soon” on its Epic Games Store page for so long that it’s not surprising folks are getting noticeably concerned over it. Following a recent rumor that it got dusted, Telltale had to confirm that it’s (yes) still in development.

The rumor apparently began on a Reddit thread, where a supposed whistleblower reported that the game was on the brink of cancellation. They wrote that The Wolf Among Us 2 was “at a critical point” and Telltale may have “no choice but to shelve it.”

Development on The Wolf Among Us 2 ‘continues’, confirms Telltale

As the rumor grew wings, developer Telltale Games had to step in. Speaking to Eurogamer, the company confirmed that development on The Wolf Among Us 2 “continues” and that more will be revealed later.

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours and unsubstantiated reddit threads,” a Telltale Games rep told Eurogamer. “But development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues and we’re excited to share more about the game with Telltale fans and our community when the time is right.”

The reply should be enough to satiate fans of the troubled series for now, although rumors like this tend to crop up during times of uncertainty for games long in development. Bigby Wolf’s next adventure has been cooking for a long time, even before Telltale shut its doors in 2018. The developer made a surprising comeback in 2019 and announced that the game is still on the way. It was delayed from 2023 to this year, however, and we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the wolf man.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more about a possible release date soon. I need more Bigby in my life, as do we all.
