There’s no official price for Nintendo’s 3DS yet, but we do know a bit more that could help us land a closer guess. A VentureBeat interview with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata tells us that they won’t be selling the console for less than production cost. Of course. But it also says that the production price for the 3DS is more than the DS. Of course.

“What I can confirm is that, in terms of the production costs, it will cost more than the costs for the Nintendo DS today,” he said.

Put those together and you can get a rough idea. The original DS was $150 at launch. How much do you think the addition of a spanking new 3D screen tech is going to add to that? that’s not even counting the 3 cameras, accelerometers and bump in processing power.

Iwata said “we believe we will produce enough value worthy of the production cost.” So, how much is this thing worth to you? $250? $200? $169.99?
