Furthering my oft-debated theory/fact that PS3 fanboys are the worst, Nielsen has provided some stunning evidence, data that shows PS3 owners buy more crappy movie games than anybody else. For encouraging awful movie tie-ins, there is no doubt that PS3 fanboys have ruined gaming for everybody.
“We find that households purchasing a movie-based game spend a larger proportion of their console video game expenditures on PlayStation platforms than the average video game buying households. PlayStation 3 in particular over indexes the most for this group,” states Nielsen. “In terms of retail outlets, these consumers are slightly more likely to purchase a videogame at a videogame specialty store when compared to the average game buying household.”
Damning evidence indeed, I think you’ll find. From this staggering, insurmountable, irredeemable data, I think we can directly blame all PS3 fanboys for the existence of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game. For shame, you terrible, terrible people. For shame.
