Oh, the places you’ll kill
Activision put out a few new screenshots of Cabela’s Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts, releasing for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on March 25. They depict animals to be shot and environments in which they can be shot, like a bear in a forest or deer in another forest.
I have this tendency to completely disregard hunting games, as the idea of actually hunting doesn’t hold a whole lot of appeal. Perhaps I’ve been looking at it the wrong way. I see very little difference between this and what we would classify as “stealth games,” as both center around gameplay in which you take out an inferior intelligence unawares. Hunting games can cut out most of the dull or tedious parts of real-life hunting and have an advantage when it comes to suspension of disbelief. I should probably just take the leap and see if my interests have shifted.
