A new video game adaptation of Rooster Teeth’s popular RWBY universe is in development at WayForward Games. RWBY: Arrowfell is a fresh action-adventure currently in the works for PC & consoles, with a 2022 release window.

RWBY: Arrowfell will feature the four main stars of the fantasy fighting anime ā€” Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yian Xiao Long ā€” team up in single and multiplayer action, traversing stages and confronting famous faces from the anime/manga franchise. In efforts to produce a game of fan-pleasing authenticity, show writers Kerry Shawcross, Miles Luna, and Eddy Rivas are on-hand to pen Arrowfell‘s narrative, while Rooster Teeth is producing a selection of illustrations and bespoke animated cutscenes to truly capture the spirit of the series. Of course, the original RWBY voice cast will be on-hand to reprise their respective roles from the series.

It seems that WayForward is going all-out to ensure that RWBY: Arrowfell will deliver an authentic experience for the fans. Given the developer’s pedigree for fine titles such as River City Girls, Mighty Switch Force, and the Shantae series, Arrowfell is definitely worth sticking on your radar if you’re a fan of the show, or you just dig cartoony, action-packed, platformers. A teaser trailer, which you can check out above, features very early footage of Arrowfell‘s gameplay and presentation style. It’s not looking too shabby at this formative stage.

RWBY: Arrowfell will launch on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at some point in 2022.
