Those of you ready to crack heads in Kamurocho (well, those of you who aren’t currently doing it in Judgment), should mark down July 10 in your calendars, as Sega and Team Yakuza has announced that they have new information to reveal on that date.

Speaking with Gamebase.com.tw, series producer Daisuke Sato said that more information on the next game in the Yakuza series will be coming next month. Team Yakuza will also reveal the winner a recent competition, held to find a leading lady for the new sequel.

New Yakuza (working title) will be the first game in the mainline series not to star badass protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, and will instead be headed up by wild-haired new boy Ichiban Kasuga. Despite this whole “new era” of Yakuza titles, I’m of no doubt that gameplay will involve walking around the city, getting into arguments in bars, and smashing bicycles over the heads of punks.

New Yakuza is currently in development for PS4.
