The skateboarding sim studio has a new parent company
Nacon announced today that it has acquired Crea-ture Studios, the developer behind the early access skateboarding gameĀ Session.
In a press release, Nacon confirms it’s acquired 100% of Creat-ture Studios, and that founding directors Marc-AndrĆ© Houde and Vincent da Silva will continue to lead the studio. Nacon says they will enjoy a “great deal of autonomy,” in order to focus on production while Nacon provides them with commercial, editorial, and marketing support.
“We are delighted to join the Nacon group, which has more than 30 years of experience in the sector,” the pair said in a statement. “This is a great opportunity to accelerate our development and offer ever more exciting games.”
SessionĀ is a skateboarding sim currently in early access on PC via Steam, and is also in Xbox Game Preview. Nacon and Crea-ture Studios recently announced plans to bring the game to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC for the full launch, though no date has been set just yet. The studio recently showed off an update of what they’ve been working on, andĀ Session is looking pretty cool, especially for folks holding out for other skateboard sims to hit the market.
Nacon, meanwhile, picks up Crea-ture Studios following 11 other studio acquisitions in the last three years. The company has become home to many different video game developers, including the teams behindĀ Blood Bowl 3,Ā The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, andĀ Vampire: The Masquerade ā Swansong.
