MW3 Zombies fans slam lackluster Season 4 content: ‘Worst update ever’

The roadmap has sparked outrage.

Zombies players are some of Call of Duty‘s most passionate fans, but with the release of the MW3 Season 4 roadmap, those fans are slamming Sledgehammer for the lack of content for the mode, calling it “pathetic” and claiming that the dev has given up on the game.

Activision dropped the Season 4 roadmap on Monday, May 20, giving fans a look at what’s coming to both MW3 and Warzone. With the major Gundam crossover and the return of the Kar98k sniper on the way, there’s been big disappointment among Zombies fans who got just one small square in the roadmap.

Unstable Rift is the sole addition to Zombies, which will see players go through a portal and head to a new location to fight off a large horde of zombies to earn rewards during matches. Not only are Zombies fans disappointed in this offering, but the fact that it’s an in-season inclusion and won’t be available when Season 4 launches has really riled them up.

In a post on the official Zombies subreddit, players were quick to slam Sledgehammer for the lack of content, with punchrockchest calling it the “worst update ever,” while –ULTRA– labeled the lack of content “pathetic.”

“This is just sad at this point,” bemoaned Fall_Cake. “I feel so depressed looking at that.” For many, the fact that Zombies as a mode takes up less space on the roadmap than Ranked Play rewards and even new Killstreaks for multiplayer is a sign of how little the dev team cares about the mode, with one particularly frustrated player writing: “Remember when they said that the amount of Zombies content in Season 1 is what we should expect for every season? Aged like f**king milk.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things are going to get better either, with Treyarch no longer working on the mode as they focus on this year’s Call of Duty release. For MW3 Zombies, it seems like time is truly up, and no major updates are coming down the pipe for the rest of the game’s lifespan.
