Full disclosure: I am the Toasty Boy
Dang, John “Jax” Parrish is a very strong man. Sure, he’s always been jacked, but compared to his original appearance in Mortal Kombat II in 1993, I’m guessing the dude has put on at least another 20 pounds of muscle. That’s just about 12 ounces of meat for every year he’s been hitting the gym since he made his gaming debut. Not bad for a fella in his fifties.
He’s planning to bring all that beef and more to Super Combat Fighter, alongside martial arts cinema legend Ernie Reyes Jr. and a potential host of other guest stars. The game is yet to make its kickstarter funding, but with praise from the Two Best Friends Play gang and a little more than a week to go, I think it still has a good chance. The developers are also hoping to pull off a Switch port, which is likely where the bulk of the game’s retro-loving audience is these days.
Maybe what it needs to make it over the top is a little Goro-style stop motion animation? Sounds like that’s something that the devs might save until the final hours of crowd funding, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
