This new trailer for Nowhere Studios’ Monochroma presents an interesting juxtaposition between how the corporation in the game sees itself, and the effect that it has on society. Everything’s peachy, upbeat, and thriving until it’s not anymore.

Then, it gets depressing. The art style shifts, and the music intensifies. You know things are bad because there are crying children. Why on earth would those kids cry unless something bad’s happ–oh yep, they’re getting locked up in the back of a truck. Well, add that to the list of mysteries that the protagonist brothers need to solve.

At least the mystery solving is imminent. Nowhere Studios still hasn’t mentioned an official release date, but it’s aiming for the latter half of May. Then, we can get into the shadows and figure out what this 1950’s world is all about.
