Tweaks to get the most out of the PC version

Modder Peter “Durante” Thoman led the charge in making Dark Souls a better-looking game on PC. While the PC port of the sequel is an improvement over developer From Software’s last effort, there’s room to push its graphics further, and Durante has some tips to make it happen.

Writing for PC Gamer, he’s covered downsampling from higher resolutions, how to achieve better anti-aliasing through Nvidia Inspector, an alternate method for ambient occlusion, and using SweetFX to alter the amount of ambient light “to help re-capture a more dramatic mood.”

Tweaks, in other words, to get a little something extra out of Dark Souls II. Durante has another article planned that “will investigate the possibilities for and likelihood of more in-depth and game-specific modding.” There’s no way I’ll be able to resist double dipping with the PC version.
