Now that Yacht Club Games has proven that it is possible to engineer a third-party amiibo, pretty much every publisher that has a Wii U or 3DS game is asked about creating one.

The latest publisher is Microsoft, who has even acknowledged said demand very recently. Minecraft team member Helen Zbihlyj, in response to a fan on the official Microsoft Studios site, stated, “we do know that there’s a lot of demand for a Minecraft amiibo – no idea if we’ll get one.”

I wonder how the Shovel Knight rollout will play out. It’s launching in Europe this month, and in January in the US. Yacht Club recently told me that there’s going to be plenty of stock, so I’m hopeful from a consumer point of view — but sales and future viability is another matter entirely.
