A Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode has been confirmed by Capcom. Here’s everything we know about the Mercenaries mode so far. Let’s also speculate which characters will be playable within this horde-style feature.

What is Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4?

During the February 2023 State of Play, Capcom announced that a Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode will be making an appearance. It has you joining up with your pals online and taking out hordes of zombies for points.

You can just play this version of Mercs by default without finishing the main story, as there is no unlock requirement.

Characters for RE4 Remake Mercs

Past Resident Evil games with this multiplayer mode do feature a long list of characters to choose from. Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercs includes Leon, Krauser, Hunk, and Luis at launch.

Who could we see as DLC?

As for future out-there additions, with Lady Dimitrescu being a playable character in Village‘s multiplayer mode, perhaps we could see the villain Ramon Salazar taking on the infested as well. Maybe Jill Valentine could show up as a secret character in collaboration with the upcoming Death Island movie. Let’s hope it won’t be tough to defeat multiple El Gigantes at once as one of these heroes or villains.
