The recent disaster in Japan has left the entire country shaken, but little by little, folks are picking up the pieces and looking towards a brighter tomorrow. One such person is Hitoshi Ariga, author and illustrator of Mega Man Megamix. After receiving a letter from a fan who expressed how Ariga-san’s manga helps him cope during these difficult times, Ariga decided to pay those sentiments forward.

On his personal blog, Ariga is holding a little coloring contest. He has posted line art from some of his book covers and is asking children to color them and share them however they please. The best works will receive special goodies and possibly trinkets from Ariga’s personal collection. It’s a sweet gesture, and one that should hopefully take children’s minds off the tragedy for a while.

Meanwhile, Capcom will be donating 100% of all Street Fighter IV iPhone sales through next week to support Japanese relief efforts. If you want to show a little support, go and give the game a download. The price has even been temporarily dropped to 99 cents. You can part with a buck, right?
