Meet Emilie, the new perfumist coming to Genshin Impact

We finally have a preview of the newest character coming to Genshin Impact: Emilie, a perfumist from Fontaine. Here’s everything we know about Emilie so far, from her element to her backstory.

Emilie’s element and details

Emilie is a Dendro character from Fontaine. Her Vision shape tells us that she has a Pneuma alignment. We can’t see her weapon or rarity from her character art, so we’ll have to wait for her kit details before we find out.

Emilie’s Constellation is called Pomum de Ambra, which is Latin for “apple of amber.” This is another name for pomanders – accessories used during the Middle Ages and Renaissance for carrying perfumes.

As a perfumist, Emilie creates a dazzling variety of perfumes for Fontanians to wear. According to Neuvillette, these scents aren’t purely for aesthetics. Some of them have aroma-therapeutic properties and can help regulate mood.

Oddly enough, Emilie’s drip marketing preview also includes mention of a “forensic cleaner.” It’s unclear if Emilie is actually a forensic cleaner as well as a perfumist. It may simply be a reference to how Emilie helps eradicate bad smells by covering them up with pleasant ones.

While we haven’t met Emilie before in Genshin Impact, she’s been mentioned in the past. Lyney, Lynette, and Wriothesley have voice lines about Emilie, and Chevreuse has mentioned being friends with Emilie during previous in-game events.

When is Emilie coming to Genshin Impact?

Given the timing of her announcement, we can expect Emilie to make her debut during Genshin Impact Version 4.8. If Genshin’s current update schedule holds, Version 4.8 should drop on July 17, with more character information being revealed in the weeks leading up to that date.

While we patiently wait for Emilie, Version 4.7 has plenty of new characters and events to keep us occupied, including a brand new game mode.
