Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is already on Steam

When Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on PC, it will be released for both Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can’t pre-order the game yet, but there is the functionality to wishlist it. PlayStation has revealed there will be free content as a pre-purchase incentive. They include:

  • Arachknight Suit early unlock for Peter with three color variants
  • Shadow-Spider Suit early unlock for Miles with three color variants
  • Web Grabber gadget early unlock
  • +3 Skill Points

There will also be a Digital Deluxe Edition, just like the PS5 release. It has the following:

  • 10 exclusive suits for Peter and Miles (five each)
  • Additional Photo Mode items
  • +5 Skill Points

PlayStation has yet to divulge too many details of the PC features in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It seems to be early days, but we do know there will be “enhanced ray-tracing options” and that the game will “take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations,” according to Nixxes community manager Julian Huijbregts on the PlayStation Blog. Further details, including features and system specifications, will be revealed closer to launch.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC will require a PlayStation Network account.

Unfortunately, a PlayStation Network account will be required to access Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, which will likely cause Mixed reviews from Steam users if it’s anything like God of War: Ragnarok. At least the game will support Xbox controllers, in addition to PlayStation ones, on the bright side.

Nevertheless, it is worth checking out Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as it’s arguably the best in the series so far. It’s entertaining to merely explore New York. “With the added web wings gliding mechanic, locomotion is even smoother than past entries,” said our review. “Given that the sandbox of New York has been expanded a bit itā€™s just as well, but I forgot just how fun it is to zoom around in these games and do absolutely nothing.”
