Feige noted how some “smart people” figured out that the official Johnny Storm poster features a New York skyline that does not “look exactly like the New York that we know and the New York that existed in the ’60s in our world. And those are smart observations, I’ll say.”

The Marvel Studios head revealed this information on The Official Marvel Podcast, also hinting at the possibility that Fantastic Four is set in a different universe than the main MCU timeline.

With the Multiverse being explored in the current MCU timeline, it will not be surprising if the Fantastic Four movie will indeed exist in an alternate universe. Now that it is confirmed that Fantastic Four is going to be a period movie, it remains to be seen how the events in the movie will lead up to the Fantastic Four crossing over to the main MCU timeline.

The popular Marvel superhero team is not the only team that is currently in a separate universe. We have already seen a glimpse at the X-Men in the post-credit scenes of The Marvels, who are currently in an alternative universe.

He also revealed that the production for the movie commences on July 29, 2024. Fantastic Four is a part of MCU Phase Six and is currently slated for a release on July 25, 2025.

Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman, the showrunner for Wandavision. The main cast of Fantastic Four has already been revealed as Pedro Pascal is set to play Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby will portray Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Joseph Quinn will portray Johnny Storm (Human Torch).
