Just when we were tired of the PlayStation 3 Slim rumors — the leaks, the retailer hints, the fake ads — Sony goes ahead and announces the thing at gamescom. We’re thrilled, of course, because that means all of the chatter about a new console can just stop already.
Not so fast. An FCC filing uncovered by PS3 News points to yet another model PS3 Slim, the CECH-2000B. What’s the difference? Well, it has a 250GB hard drive; the announced CECH-2000A comes with a 120GB hard drive. The filing’s a bit sneaky, with Sony’s lawyers attempting to hide it under another company’s name. But PS3 News put on its detective hat and rest assured, this is the real deal.
So now we wait for the retailer leaks, the pricing speculation, and the phony advertisements designed in Photoshop by sad people who think they’re clever. This doesn’t amuse us. Not one bit.
