Depending on which way you choose to go in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, you’ll travel to either Kozama’uka or Urqopacha. Either way, you’ll be stuck traveling on land until you’ve unlocked all of the Aether Currents in the area.
Every area in Dawntrail follows the same pattern, and there are a total of fifteen Aether Currents to unlock in each. 10 of these can be found around the map using your Aether Compass, four can be unlocked by completing side quests, and one is unlocked through MSQ progression.
Regardless of which area you choose to go to first, you’re likely to be able to unlock most of the Kozama’uka Aether Currents before you can unlock some of the ones in Urqopacha.
Field Aether Currents in Kozama’uka
As I said, there are 10 Aether Currents to find on the Kozama’uka map. They can be found in the following locations:
- (X:27.4, Y:7.7, Z:0.0)
- (X:9.4, Y:17.8, Z:0.0)
- (X:8.7, Y:11.7, Z:0.0)
- (X:39.8, Y:13.4, Z:0.1)
- (X:31.8, Y:14.5, Z:0.1)
- (X:22.4, Y:27.2, Z:1.1)
- (X:24.0, Y:31.9, Z:1.1)
- (X:15.5, Y:34.2, Z:1.1)
- (X:6.4, Y:23.9, Z:1.3)
- (X:31.1, Y:38.1, Z:1.2)
