Last week, Iron Galaxy Studios said that for a limited time, it would funnel up to $100,000 in revenue generated by digital sales of Killer Instinct into the game’s tournament scene. Players had two weeks to reach that cap but it took them less than 72 hours, according to the studio.

Half of the money will contribute to Killer Instinct‘s prize pool at EVO this July, while the rest will support other fighting game tournaments. Which ones, exactly? Iron Galaxy hasn’t specified yet, but expect to hear news on that “in the next few weeks.”

The Shadow Jago Community Bundle (the titular character + 7,500 KI Gold) undoubtedly had a big impact on the fundraising, and although this round is finished, the DLC will remain available for purchase until May 14, 2015. Later this year, Shadow Jago “will finally become a real character in Killer Instinct with his unique boss moveset, balanced for competitive play.”
