Who needs FIFA 18?
E3 may be inundating the gaming community with news and announcements, but the beat goes on at Hamster, who are re-releasing another classic SNK arcade on modern platforms.
This week, it is the turn of 1995’s Super Sidekicks 3, which, contrary to its title, has nothing to do with with Robin The Boy Wonder, or Groot, but is in fact the third game in SNK’s world soccer series.
It’s also a pretty fun kickabout, as players pick from one of 64 teams and take to the pitch. Featuring colourful, well-animated sprites, easy to pick up controls and even a few wacky gimmicks – such as eye-level cameras for free kicks and penalties – Sidekicks 3 was actually a good laugh in the arcades, typically not the ideal venue for sports titles.
If you want to check it out, then Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory is being made available tomorrow on PS4 in Japan and Xbox One and Nintendo Switch worldwide, priced at around $8.
